While the tour began in Arusha, we arrived the night before in Nairobi and took this flight to Arusha the following afternoon.
We arrived in Arusha as the sun was setting. While pulling out of the parking lot of the airport, Tam caught this glimpse of Kilimanjaro. It was the first and last time we would catch a glimpse of the mountain.
Our hotel was the Lake Duluti Serena Hotel. It looked like a Thomas Kinkade painting
The rooms were clustered in groups of six.
Our room was directly behind this bush in the center.
Our room - I found the netting to be a pain in the neck especially getting up in the middle of the night to use the restroom
Next to our cluster of rooms was this old building with a tree growing out of it.
The tree inside the building.
Supposedly this tree grew out of a pot and that this was the original pot. Seem far fetched to me.
The two kept flying around and making all sorts of noise.
The main entrance to the hotel. The property was an old coffee plantation.
Beautiful flowers everywhere
Tom checking the setting on his camera
Now he's checking Dave's camera.
We took our group shot at the beginning of our tours since it would be last time we would all be in clean clothes.
We left through town the next morning on our way to Ngorongoro Creater.. It ws Sunday morning and most of the town was shut down.
This building was built but never occupied.
