Southern Utah Photo Trip - March 2012

EXIT

In March I traveled to Las Vegas to meet a fellow photographer and friend, Clayton Lau, for a week long trip to the national Parks of Southern Utah. On the way to Las Vegas, I also took the opportunity to stop by Joshua Tree National Park to take some pictures at sunset and then a short jaunt to Valley of Fire state park, the following afternoon.

After picking Clayton up at the airport the following morning, we drove to Moab, Utah and used it as our base for five nights. We spent a fair amount of time at Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. The Sunsets were mostly so-so due to high clouds which softened the light. We were fortunate enough to have a couple of nice mornings.

On the way back to Las Vegas, we stopped for a night at Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. This was what I called a 'Sampler Trip" as a week (let alone a day) doesn't do these parks justice.
