I arrived in Las Vegas at noon the day before picking up my friend. So I decided to drive out to Valley of Fire state park and check it out. The park is located 15 miles east of I-15. Most of the drive in rather uninteresting until you reach the park and the road descends into a valley lined with bright red rocks.
The Bee Hives
Birds have burrowed into the rack face to form nesting areas.
Panaroma of the main valley taken from the Atlatl Rock observation platform.
Petroglyphs on Atlatl Rock
This rock looked like the profile of a person's face.
This arch could be seen from the road. Many of the intersting features in this park require some hiking. I didn't have the time.
I saw this guy along the side of the road as I was leaving the park.
