African Safari - September 2012

I had been planning a trip to Africa for my son and I for over a year. The plan was to take a photography workshop, in Botswana, with Andy Biggs. In making the airline reservations I found I could save $2500 if we extended our stay for a few days. So I booked three nights at the Sabi Sabi game preserve in South Africa. We were now all set with 11 days on safari.

The day finally came and we left loaded with rented lenses that weighed a ton, three new cameras and a whole host of other equipment.

Our flight left from San Francisco to Atlanta where we were to catch a non-stop fight to Johannesburg. All went well until we checked in at the gate in Atlanta and I was told I wasn't going to South Africa that evening. There was a problem with my passport. You can follow our ordeal and cry and laugh with us as we relive the following 48 hours

All went well and we were able to join up with the workshop two days late. Other than the ordeal of getting there, it was a fantastic trip and one that I would recommend to all.
