We arrived in Montevideo on Fat Tuesday. We had not booked any excursions and figured we would wonder around the town on foot. Well we were in for a surprise when everything was closed because Fat Tuesday is a holiday, allowing folks to rest for the festivities which begin at nine in the evening (an hour after we sail.)
