Hell's Gate

Hell's Gate is at the eastern entrance to the park (from Beatty, NV). The altitude here is 2300 feet. Furnace Creek, where the visitor center is located, can be seen as the dark part, on the left, of the white valley floor. It's 20 miles away and at an elevation of -190 feet. This picture was shot before the sun broke the horizon.
