Yellowstone National Park - Fall 2003
This is the Black Dragon's Caldron, a mud pot which roared into existence in 1948, blowing trees out by their roots. For the first 30 years, it erupted with 10 to 20 foot burst of black mud. It's been relatively quiet for the past 20 years.
