Across the street from the Cathedral is the Baptistry. The present building was built in the mid 11th century. It's interesting to note that the marble was taken from ancient building. We saw similar happenings when touring Turkey where the Knights of St. John used stones from the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus to build the Castle of St. Peter.
