We took the bus to La Spezia from Viareggio where we caught the train to Manarola. We would take two short train hops to Vernazza, one of the villages of the Cinque Terre, or "Five Lands". The only way to get to these communities, which cling to the sides of cliffs, is by boat or by train. It was quite a treat and as had become the norm on this trip, the weather was beautiful.
