This shot was taken next to our hotel. This gives you some idea of what the terrain was like leading into the sea. We had asked the captain of the ferry where was a good place to stay. He told us the best beach on the island was in the town of Glyfada. While it had sand, it also had lots of shale just below the water surface. We decide to move to another place the next day.
