Mount Nebo is the most important biblical site in Jordan with unique resonance to Jews, Christians and Muslims. It is the site where Moses is said to have viewed the Promised Land after wandering the desert for forty years. It is said that Moses died on the mountain. The Christians and Jews believe he was buried on the mountain while the Muslims believe he was buried near the road connecting Jericho with Jerusalem.

Madaba is best know for the Greek Orthodox church with a mosaic map showing the various holy places in the Dead Sea area.
