We truly enjoyed this trip. We started off spending 4 days in Prague and traveled to Regensburg, Germany where we boarded our river boat. The weather started out great in Prague but then turned colder and cloudier as we progressed down the river. Our first stop on the river was the town of Passau, Germany. As far as I can tell, it's claim to fame was the church organ which is reported to be the largest in the world. Our next stop was the town of Linz, where we boarded busses for a day trip to Salzburg. The town was an absolute delight. Our next day's travel took us through the Wachau Valley and the town of Durnstein, Austria. After leaving Durnstein, we arrived in Vienna and spent two days touring this beautiful city. (Far too little time to do it justice) After Vienna, out tour took us to Bratislava, Slovakia. We were greatly impressed to hear how far the country had come following the fall of communism. Our final stop on the river was Budapest. We were quite surprised with Budapest. I had expected a dull and dreary town just emerging from behind the iron curtain. It was quite the opposite. The weather could have been better.

On our journey back to the states, we stopped off for two nights in London and traveled down to the Isle of Wight to visit our niece who is a nun at Saint Cecilia's Abby. It's always good to see Mickey (aka Sister Mary David).
