| Morro Bay is named after it's most prominent feature, Morro Rock. The rock is the first of a string of nine mountain peaks which extend through the valley to San Luis Obispo. This collection of peaks is called the "Nine Sisters" and they are ancient volcanic mountains. | |||||||
