Alaska 2006
Denali
We've been wanting to go on an Alaska Cruise for some time and this year we were fortunate to go with my younger sister and her husband on the Regent Seven Seas Mariner. This was our first cruise ever and we didn't want to share it with 3000 other folks. The Mariner was just the right size with 570 guests.

We preceded the cruise with a land tour of Denali. This consisted of a drive up to Talkeetna where we boarded the train to Denali and then spent a day touring Denali followed by a coach trip to Girdwood and the Alyeska Resort, a magnificant 5 star resort.

The scenery was absolutely breath taking as evidenced by my taking close to 1000 pictures. Luckily for you only 300 are shown here. Denali was a disappointment due to a combination of rain, few animal sightings and limited access off the bus for picture taking. We saw mount McKinley for a brief moment on our drive from Anchorage to Talkeetna but never saw it again due to cloud cover. We were told this was the norm.

The remainder of the trip (post Denali) presented us with magnificent weather and wonderful sights. We hope you enjoying these pictures and experiences.
