Hadrian's Gate, built in 131-132 AD in honor of emperor Hadrian. There were two inscriptions above the archway:

On the west side: "This is Athens the ancient city of Theseus"

On the east side: "Thi si the city of Hadrian and not of Theseus"

The Acropolis can be seen through the arch.
