We spent the weekend of November 3rd in Mendocino on the northern coast of California. We had been wanting to visit the area for quite some time and decided to do it on Tamara's birthday. The town has about 600 residents and is situated on a bluff surrounded by water on three sides.
We stayed in an incredible B&B called the "Blue Door Inn". The place was recently remodeled. A fantastic breakfast was included each day along with a wine happy hour at 5:00pm. Cookies and coffee or tea are available all day. Great location right in the village.
Time has stopped here in the 60s. We saw this bus who's owner would sing and expound sermons in the middle of the street.
One yard had these cute driftwood flowers.
This sculpture was on the top of the bank. Notice the birds are enjoying themselves.
On our first morning there, we hiked along the rim of the headlands.

"Sea stacks" are found all up and down the coast.
Along with sea stacks, these tunnels are also found. We spotted about a half dozen of them on our hike around the headlands.

On Sunday we went to MacKerricher State Park which was just north of Fort Bragg, about 13 miles from Mendocino. The beach is famous for it abundance of sea glass. When we got ther the wind was blowing about 25 miles per hour and the sea and sand spray made hunting for glass a lost cause. Even the sea gulls were grounded.
